MAKE YOUR MARK
Life is a Canvas. You are the Paint.
Everything else is Perception.
Kinetic Capital Community Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on community and urban development. Our approach is unconventional and is intended to help people recognize their value and potential. The services, skills, resources, and opportunities we provide are all offered with the intent of supporting individuals toward maximizing their potential and creating an outcome of independence, self-sufficiency, and responsibility.
THE ONLY THING
Kinetic Capital Community Foundation Exists to Raise Up All Communities
We work to change mindsets and systems in order to address root problems with a long-term perspective to stimulate economic growth. In response to critical needs that arise as a result of societal challenges, disaster emergencies and other unexpected events, Kinetic Capital Community Foundation establishes early response programs to help make sure everyone gets the support they need when encountering life's unexpected events.
“The very least you can do in your life is figure out what you hope for. And the most you can do is live inside that hope. Not admire it from a distance but live right in it, under its roof.” – Barbara Kingsolver
Our initiatives are designed to help people achieve an improved quality of life, and to build strong, equitable, and sustainable communities by leveraging principles of economics, physics and business development.
FREEDOM, LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL
In the United States, there is a staggering number of innocent people who remain incarcerated. Working with other organizations we help to bring to the public's attention to the prevalent issue of wrongful convictions.
Starting in 2018 and continuing to this day, Kinetic Capital Community Foundation has provided support for successful reentry & reintegration into society.
Alfred Chestnut, Andrew Stewart, and Ransom Watkins were exonerated after each spending 36 years in prison for the 1983 murder of 14-year-old DeWitt Duckett. The Conviction Integrity Unit (CIU) at the Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office announced that it would agree to vacate the convictions and dismiss all charges. A joint investigation led by the Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Conviction Integrity Unit, and assisted by the Mid-Atlantic Innocence Project, the University of Baltimore Innocence Project Clinic, the Maryland Office of the Public Defender, Nieto Law Office, and Nathans Biddle, proved they did not commit the crime.
COMMUNITY SUPPORT & ADVOCATION
Public housing projects and poor living conditions all too often go hand in hand. Millions of residents living in public housing have been exposed to toxins like lead, asbestos and mold. All too often cities do not prioritize infrastructure resources to these communities and interruption of utilities such as broken heating and water systems.
Beginning in February of 2019 and continuing to this day, Kinetic Capital Community Foundation supports communities experiencing interruption in basic services. In June of 2019, Poe Homes in Baltimore City, was left without water service for at least two weeks. Without water, cooking, using the restroom, staying hydrated, doing laundry and more proved extremely difficult. We worked alongside many other community partners to assist the residents.
BRIDGING THE DIGITAL DIVIDE
Digital divide is a term that refers to the gap between demographics and regions that have access to modern information and communications technology, and those who don't, or who have restricted access. This technology can include the telephone, television, personal computers and the internet.
Starting in August of 2020 and continuing to this day, Kinetic Capital Community Foundation is helping community centers in the Baltimore Area by collecting used computers, laptops, tablets and other technological equipment including installation and IT services to help neighborhood community centers and other support programs access to computers for school work, job searching, literacy education etc.
“IT’S NOT WHAT YOU LOOK AT THAT MATTERS, IT’S WHAT YOU SEE.” – HENRY DAVID THOREAU
If your thoughts are burdened with the heaviness of the past, you will experience more of the same. Thoughts become perception, perception becomes reality. Whatever your thoughts can conceive, your mind can achieve.
We partner with existing community organizations, small businesses and service programs. Kinetic Capital Community Foundation infuses the power of psychology to assist community members in overcoming barriers to hope for gainful employment, opportunity, and financial independence.
ENGAGEMENT IN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND SOCIAL ENTERPRISE
We see community development and urban economic development as ways to ignite social change. The challenges of income inequality significantly impact the stability of millions of American families. Small business ownership has the potential to empower economic equality by creating jobs and fewer barriers to employment and earning potential. Growing evidence suggests that economic inclusion is critical for boosting economic competitiveness, generating faster growth, and supporting economic resiliency. The business sector has an opportunity to further advance inclusive growth and local shared prosperity by offering reflections on existing, formalized business partnerships and identifying strategies for local leaders to engage business partners.
IGNITE SOCIAL CHANGE
A Quantum Society
Generate a system disruption using a compelling vision for transforming society using the insights of quantum physics to illuminate their ideas. Diversity, they suggest, is the creative evolutionary force, and the more diverse the society, the greater the opportunity for transformation and growth. Their theory of cosmic and social evolution allows us to discover the meaning and purpose of society through an appreciation and understanding of pluralistic thinking.
ACCELERATE SOCIAL MOBILITY
Our work seeks to break the barriers blocking America’s promise of opportunity, prosperity, and growth to everyone. Socioeconomic mobility in the United States refers to the upward or downward movement of Americans from one social class or economic level to another, through job changes, inheritance, marriage, connections, tax changes, innovation, illegal activities, hard work, lobbying, luck, health changes or other factors.
EMPOWER ECONOMIC EQUALITY
Our team is pursuing ways to organize citizens who are not yet factored into the economic power equation. Economic power allows for countries, businesses, or individuals to improve their standard of living. It increases their freedom to make decisions that benefit themselves alone and reduces the ability of any outside force to reduce their freedom. Purchasing power is a significant component of economic power.
“Every day the clock resets. Your wins don't matter. Your failures don't matter. Don't stress on what was,
fight for what could be.“ -Sean Higgins
Understanding how the world works can help us to make better decisions and approach the world with more clarity. In sociology, a system is said to be in social equilibrium when there is a dynamic working balance among its interdependent parts. Each subsystem will adjust to any change in the other subsystems and will continue to do so until an equilibrium is retained.
Social change, in sociology, the alteration of mechanisms within the social structure, characterized by changes in cultural symbols, rules of behavior, social organizations, or value systems. Throughout the historical development of their discipline, sociologists have borrowed models of social change from other academic fields. In the late 19th century, when evolution became the predominant model for understanding biological change, ideas of social change took on an evolutionary cast, and, though other models have refined modern notions of social change, evolution persists as an underlying principle.
NO ONE STANDS ALONE
Part of our role is to help each other deal with the challenges of everyday life without getting overwhelmed. It helps to remember that no one stands alone. We all stand on the shoulders of someone who came before us; someone who laid a foundation, set an example, taught us, mentored us, led us, and loved us. We must follow the footsteps, listen for the clues, hear their courageous voices when we read the words left behind; be inspired by their wisdom and live out our collective vision as we lie the path from those left to come.
Maya Angelou, a civil rights activist, poet and award-winning author known for her acclaimed 1969 memoir, 'I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings,' and her numerous poetry and essay collections.
The caged bird sings
with a fearful trill
of things unknown
but longed for still
and his tune is heard
on the distant hill
for the caged bird
sings of freedom.
KINETIC COMMUNITY 1.0
A COMPLETE COMMUNITY WHERE EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING IS POTENTIAL
We are planning an urban mixed use community development project in Baltimore City that has the potential to change the trajectory of current generations and generations to come. We are seeking to uncover hidden potential within people and places in the city that are ready to seize an opportunity to plan,
build and run their own economic ecosystem.
The Kinetic Capital Community Foundation team will collaborate with current residents, existing community based organizations, local leaders, developers and government officials to help facilitate the development of Kinetic Community 1.0. In addition to leveraging human resources, part of our strategy includes applying concepts of quantum physics, economics and universal laws of energy. We hope you take a look around our site
that will grow with our project. Please contact us if you'd like more information.
